He often tells people that as far as he's concerned his beautiful wife is better company than anyone else in the world.
Now, of course, precious time alone with her is hard for David Cameron to come by. But the Prime Minster made up for that this week by whisking Samantha off for a holiday in the sunshine.
Unlike last year’s ‘staycation’ in Cornwall which was dramatically interrupted by the birth of their baby Florence, this one was abroad.

Holding hands in the breathtaking Spanish city of Granada, the couple looked happy to be enjoying one of their first child-free breaks in a long time. The relaxing trip was the British leader’s treat for his wife’s 40th birthday.
It was a particularly thoughtful present as Sam, a former art student, would have been impressed by the magnificent views in historic Granada. The city is famous for its Moorish architecture, whitewashed walls and fuchsia bougainvillea flowers.
Samantha’s big day is actually on April 18. But the couple are taking advantage of the Easter parliamentary recess to sneak some time off before their children break up for school.
With Nancy, seven, Arthur Elwen, five, and Florence, seven months, being cared for back home, they felt free to stroll the historic streets without any cares.
They visited the world famous Alhambra palace the seat of the Moorish leaders that ruled Spain in the 14th Century.
Later the PM and his stylish other half headed out to dinner, no doubt, to try traditional tapas – tasty snacks served up in almost every bar and restaurant in the country.
It's a little princess!
