It’s hard to tell who was more starstruck.
The Duchess of Cambridge was introduced to Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon in Los Angeles.
And while Kate was in awe at meeting the screen siren, the Water for Elephants actress seemed equally overcome, gazing wide-eyed at the towering brunette during their chat.
The women mingled at the home of film producer Steve Tisch, where Kate and her husband Prince William spent time with donors to Tusk USA, an organisation dedicated to preserving Africa’s heritage and culture.
Earlier in the day, the pair had visited the Inner-City Arts school, where they made imprints of their hands in clay.
Kate’s first attempt failed to make an impression, prompting her husband to tease her.
"Come on, come on. Do it properly," he said before trying his own hand. "Now that’s an imprint."
They also attended 'Mission Serve: Hiring Our Heroes', a job fair for ex-servicemen. There they prepared care packages and William made a speech.
