Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has rarely been in public since she went on maternity leave after the birth of her five-month-old baby Giulia.
But France's first lady has come out of seclusion for her husband Nicolas Sarkozy's re-election campaign.
This week, she was on an engagement with disabled children.

Crouching on the floor, the 44-year-old chatted with the youngsters at the centre funded by her personal charity foundation.
Along with her charity work, Carla has her hands full on the home front.
As well as Giulia, she is mother to Aurelien, her 11-year-old from a previous relationship, and stepmother to Nicolas' three boys from his other two marriages.
Despite this, the model-turned-singer is fully committed to helping her man ahead of the elections on April 22.
"I'll accompany my husband when he needs me... in symbolic moments, in rallies," she said.
"I support him 100 per cent," she told French journalists. "He is the most able to keep the country on course... and has done everything well."
