Kate and William get a new neighbour at Kensington Palace

The plush Kensington Palace complex that is home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has just enjoyed a spectacular £12 million makeover. And now the newly-refurbished building is to welcome a new resident – none other than Prince Harry. William's brother has reportedly moved out of his father's official residence at Clarence House in favour of a small apartment next door to the royal couple's London base.Nottingham Cottage, a small residence in the grounds of the sprawling estate surrounding Kensington Palace, has been William and Kate's home since July last year.

  • 8. Apartment 4B: Once home to Prince Charles' former private secretary, Sir Michael Peat. He used to pay £47,000 of his £250,000-a-year salary to live there
  • 9. Nottingham Cottage: William and Kate's current home. Prince Harry will move in once the couple move into Apartment 1A
  • 10. The other apartments: Small apartments occupied by royal employees, who pay a small proportion of their salary in rent
