Since Princess Marie and Prince Joachim of Denmark welcomed their baby girl back in January, there's been a lot of speculation about her name.Traditionally within the royal family a newborn's name is kept under wraps until the christening – leading to a feverish guessing game.Well, royal watchers will finally be able to put a name to her angelic face when she is baptised on Sunday.
The baptism will take place in the picturesque town of Mogeltonder close to the prince's residence, Schackenborg Castle.It was here that the couple married three years ago in the local church, which dates back to the 13th century. Later, a reception will take place for friends and relatives including Joachim's older brother Crown Prince Frederik and his glamorous wife Mary.
Proud grandmother Queen Margrethe is also unlikely to miss the joyous occasion and the royal couple may chose to name their new arrival after her.They could opt for a traditional Danish name such as Lene, Sofie or Astrid.Then again Marie, who was born in Paris and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, may turn to her own roots for inspiration. A Gallic name is also a strong possibility given that the queen's husband Prince Henrik is a Frenchman. Agathe and Odile are Marie's middle names, while her mother is called Françoise.
