The tension was almost too much to bear for the Duchess of Cambridge during Team GB's nailbiting hockey match against Argentina.
Knowing all too well the effort involved on the field, Kate, a former school hockey player herself, was riveted at the Olympic Park on Wednesday.
Despite her support, ultimately the ladies lost 2-1 in the hard-fought semi-final.

As the athletes left the field, the Duchess stood to wave and applaud their performance.
Kate's love of hockey is well known, and stems from her school days when she was captain of Marlborough College's team.
Back in March, she took part in a training session at Stratford's hockey arena with Team GB athletes.
On that occasion, she impressed with her ball control and even scored a goal.
Her husband, Prince William knows only too well of Kate's passion for the game, and recently joked that his wife wielding a hockey stick was "something to behold and be aware of."
