She probably has one of the most recognisable faces in the UK.
But when the Duchess of Cambridge went shopping in her local town of Anglesey recently, she found out that not everyone is familiar with Prince William's wife, or her royal title.
When Kate popped into beachside shop Funsport to buy a wetsuit, owner Dave Buckland didn't recognise his famous customer and asked her name.
The Duchess eschewed her full title, simply identifying herself as "Mrs Cambridge".
Speaking of Dave's misunderstanding, a source said: "He was looking straight at her and actually commented that it was quite an unusual surname. He hadn't a clue who she was.
"He hasn't lived it down since."
To make things even more confusing, the brunette realised she had left her purse and credit cards at home and had to dash off to collect them while the shop held her purchase behind.
The incident at the seaside resort of Rhosneigr is indicitave of the normal, everyday life that Prince William and his future Queen enjoy on the Welsh island of Anglesey.
They have been living in a rented farmhouse nearby for the past two years.
