Sitting in a colourfully painted room full of games and crayons, Prince Charles and a young companion share a joke together.
A closer look behind their smiles reveals the touching scene came as the Prince of Wales toured Britain's iconic paediatric hospital, Great Ormond Street.
The young patient, named Joe, met the royal in the brave and colourful world of the Lion Ward. The two hit it off as they chatted with Joe's parents and hospital staff.
Prince Charles was also due to meet with one of the wards best loved professionals, Julie Bayliss, who won the prestigious 2011 WellChild Best Nurse Award.
The accolade was presented to her by Charles's son Prince Harry at a star studded ceremony on Park Lane.
The future King and the royal family have close ties with Great Ormond Street Hopsital. Charles last visited the hospital in 2006, for the opening of the Octav Botnar Wing.
