Almost six months pregnant, Kate Middleton is "finally getting a chance to enjoy her pregnancy" according to an insider. The Duchess of Cambridge, 31, is reportedly spending time preparing Apartment 1A of Kensington Palace, the home that she will share with husband Prince William and their new arrival, when they move later this year.

Mum-to-be Kate has been sorting out decorating supplies for the 21-room apartment, according to reports. "It's a fabulous time," the source added.

Despite suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum in her early pregnancy, Kate now looks to be well and healthy. The condition was so severe that Kate spent several days at King Edward VII's Hospital. Their future royal residence is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, estimated to be costing £1m. The four-storey home includes a nursery, staff quarters and a private walled garden.

It was once the home of the Queen's sister Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon. A renovation team is tasked with redecorating the outdated brightly-coloured pink and turquoise rooms, which were the late Princess Margaret's favourite colours.

William and Kate are temporarily residing in Nottingham Cottage, a modest two bedroom abode, until the building works at Apartment 1A are complete.

As well as sprucing up their future family home, Kate has been keeping busy with work commitments. Most recently she visited a scout camp in Cumbria for a day of volunteer training with the outdoor organisation. This visit marked the end of an action-packed week in which she attended an event to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the London Underground with the Queen and Prince Philip and visited a child bereavement charity with William. Next month, William and Kate, who hold the Scottish titles The Earl and Countess of Strathearn, will visit Scotland. The prospective parents will arrive in Glasgow on Tuesday 4 April and return to England the following day. While in Scotland the Duke and Duchess will be joined by Prince Charles.
