"Just done my first bit of baby shopping," he wrote next to the picture. It has been a week since Mike and his wife Zara, 32, announced that they were expecting their first child. At that time, their spokesperson made it clear that the Queen's granddaughter would continue to compete in equine events — and this weekend Zara was back in the saddle. On Saturday she took part in a chart polo match at The Rundle Cup at Tidworth Polo Cup, looking very happy and relaxed as she helped her team to victory. And the following day she took to the field again during the Brightling Park International Horse Trails in East Sussex, tackling jumps and water-filled ditches with confidence.Zara Phillips, an Olympic silver medallist in eventing, is expected to keep riding until closer to her due date next year. Her mother Princess Anne rode right up until six weeks before the birth of her daughter.

"(Zara) is being sensible about this and is listening to what doctors are telling her. She would never put her pregnancy in jeopardy," her spokesperson has said. While opinion is divided as to whether or not Zara should take a break from eventing — the NHS advises mums-to-be to avoid equine sports — Netmums founder Siobhan Freegard told the Mail, "Many riders continue in the saddle up to five or six months pregnant, and event star Mary King famously competed in the European Championships at five-and-a-half months. "Zara is a professional sportswoman who will trust her mount and clearly feels safe."
