Princess Letizia of Spain channeled her inner rock chick on Wednesday when she stepped out in leather trousers and scarlet heels for an engagement at the Royal Mint Museum in Madrid.
Letizia is a known fan of indie music such as The Killers and has previously been seen dancing in the crowd at Benicàssim music festival which was reflected in her edgy yet chic outfit.
Former journalist Letizia gave a speech at the Spanish Publishing Association Awards, which no doubt brought back memories of her past career.
"In the midst of this crisis," said Letizia. "Those who relay information with rigour and precision are more important than ever."
The 40-year-old's appearance in Madrid came almost a week after she and her husband Prince Felipe hosted the prestigious Principes of Asturias Awards and just a day before her eldest daughter's birthday.
On 31 October Princess Leonor, who is heir to the Spanish throne, turned eight and is expected to be celebrating her special day with close family and friends.
