The happy family were out in force at Holmenkollen, a Norwegian neighbourhood famous for its ski jumping hill, Holmenkollbakken, and showed their support as German-born Severin Freund was victorious ahead of Norwegian native Anders Bardal in the ski jump.

Several candid snaps of the group showed them relaxed and smiling throughout the day.

Marius, who is Princess Mette-Marit's son from a previous relationship, was seen sharing a joke with King Harald, while Ingrid, who is Norway's future queen, charmed her grandmother.

Princess Mette-Marit's appearance at the sporting event came the day after she showed her support for International Women's Day.

Mette-Marit had scaled back her official duties to undergo neck surgery in November 2012, but her recent increase in engagements suggest the Crown Princess is now back to full health.
