Prince William to be received by President Obama at The White House

Prince William will be received by President Obama on Monday 8 December as part of his official visit to the USA with the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton. The Prince will meet with Barack Obama at The White House, also calling in on Vice-President Joseph Biden and his wife Dr Jill Biden.

The Duke of Cambridge, who previously met the president with Duchess Kate when the he and his wife Michelle visited London in May 2011, will greet the American Head of State in the famous Oval Office of his Washington DC residence.

Following his morning meeting with Obama, Prince William will then attend the International Corruption Hunters Alliance conference at the World Bank with First Secretary of State and Leader of the House of Commons William Hague, who chairs the Government committee which oversees the UK's policy against the illegal wildlife trade.

The Duchess of Cambridge, meanwhile, will be undertaking a series of engagements in New York. Kate will be hosted by the First Lady of New York City, Chirlane McCray, during a trip to the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem. Here the Duchess will meet students at an arts and crafts session before attending a lunch at the British Consul General’s Residence with successful Brits from the culture, arts, hospitality and business sectors.

The Duke will then return to New York to resume his engagements in the Big Apple. Accompanied by Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, William will attend a reception organised by the Royal Foundation in recognition of the conservation work carried out by Tusk and United for Wildlife partners.

In the evening William and Kate will reunite for an NBA basketball game in Brooklyn, seeing the Brooklyn Nets take on the Cleveland Cavaliers, where they are expected to meet musical superstar Beyoncé and her rapper husband Jay Z.
