Princess Diana's brother Earl Spencer has opened up about his memories of her funeral and the famous eulogy he gave. Speaking in an interview with PR guru Judy Twersky, Charles recalled the difficulty he had holding back his emotions as he made his speech to millions around the world. "I've never seen it," he said, when quizzed on whether he had since watched clips of himself addressing the crowd on 7 September 1997 at Westminster Abbey. "It's quite distant. People do still talk to me about it."

Charles recalls that his worst memory of the day is walking behind the casket

Charles added that walking behind Diana's casket with Princes Charles, William and Harry as they entered the cathedral is his pervading memory of the day."It's hard to distinguish what I remember from what I've been told about it," he said. "But I do remember using my stomach muscles to stay upright by the end [of the eulogy]. It was much worse, though, walking behind the casket."
