Prince George made his first appearance at Saturday’s Trooping the Colour from behind a window at Buckingham Palace, so royal fans were left wondering if the royal tot would make his debut on the palace's balcony for the ceremony – and they weren't disappointed.Wearing the same light blue outfit that Prince William wore at Her Majesty's Birthday Parade in 1984, George appeared in the arms of his father, looking delighted to be a part of the royal action.

Prince George made his debut at Trooping the Colour on Saturday

George, who is almost two years old, was fascinated by an RAF flypast, pointing up at the sky and throwing his head back to get a better view – much to the amusement of Prince William and The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton. And of course the young Prince gave an adorable wave at the throngs of royal fans who had gathered at the Palace's gates for the grand occasion, causing a huge roar of delight.

George didn't only resemble his dad on the special day that marked the Queen's 89th birthday, he was also the spitting image of his uncle Prince Harry as he pulled the same excited facial expressions as the 30-year-old royal when he attended the parade at three years old.As well as the Queen herself and the Duke of Edinburgh, other royals out in force on Saturday included Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Andrew and his daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.

One tiny royal notably absent from the proceedings was little Princess Charlotte, who at six weeks old remained away from the spotlight.

With its stunning display of military tradition, pomp and pageantry, Trooping the Colour is one of the most anticipated events in the British royal calendar.

Her Majesty was beaming in a peach ensemble for the special day alongside Prince Philip – who turned 94 just days before.
