Royal fans were out in full force on Wednesday to wish the Queen an early happy birthday on the eve of her turning 90. Leading the pack was Her Majesty's number one fan Terry Hutt, who is a fervent supporter of the British royals and never fails to appear at the family's milestone events.

Proudly wearing his Union Jack suit, hat and tie and waving HELLO! flags, Terry was ready and waiting outside Windsor Castle to congratulate the Queen.

The superfan, who was last spotted at Princess Charlotte's christening in July 2015, supported himself with a Union Jack walking cane. He had also made a sign that read: "Terry Hutt wishes you many happy returns. Happy 90th birthday."

Terry, a retired carpenter and grandfather-of-four, had travelled from his home in Weston-super-Mare to ensure that he is part of the celebrations. He brought his camping gear and a tarpaulin to keep warm and camp overnight.

"The Queen is very special to me and I'm very much looking forward to seeing her again," Terry told HELLO! while also referring to the Obamas' upcoming visit. "I wanted to be in the best place to see her and create a bit of colour for President Barack Obama and his wife."

Terry added: "The Queen is 90 years old tomorrow but I have plans for her when she reaches her centenary, to present her with a card to congratulate her. It's usually the other way around, with her sending a telegram to people on their 100th birthday."

Of his striking trademark Union Jack suit, he added: "It was made especially for me in Holland. When I put on weight, they make me another!"

On Wednesday the Queen carried out two engagements at Windsor. Her first outing took her to the Royal Mail Windsor delivery office where she marked the 500th anniversary of the postal service, and also viewed the new stamp featuring herself, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.

Before leaving, the Queen was treated to the first of many renditions of Happy Birthday by the Royal Mail Choir.

She then headed to Alexandra Gardens, also in Windsor, where she opened a new bandstand. The royal met local children who helped design the bandstand's plaques and later unveiled a plaque commemorating the moment.

Last year Terry spent his 80th birthday waiting outside the hospital where Princess Charlotte was born

This time last year Terry spent over a week camping outside St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London in the lead-up to Princess Charlotte's birth. The little girl just missed out on sharing Terry's birth date, as she arrived on 2 May.

Naturally, Terry also waited outside the same hospital in July 2013 to witness the moment Prince William and Kate introduced their first child, Prince George, to the world.
