Flying the flag for her adoptive country's fashion industry, Australian-born Princess Mary wore the coat on 20 November 2006 for an official visit to The Red Barnet Foundation, Denmark's version of Save The Children, when she was pregnant with Princess Isabella.Designer Malene has described the coat as "A beautiful wool coat with beautiful bead work, back martingale closed by invisible hooks, cotton lining with beautiful polka dot black border, pen pocket inside, two outside pockets closed with large buttons." Both ladies teamed the coat with black tights and heels, while Kate topped off her look with a black pillbox-style hat by Whiteley Fischer.

As part of her work the The Mary Foundation, Mary wore the elegant coat for the presentation of the Children's Rights Prize for the Save the Children Fund in Copenhagen. She awarded the prize to psychologist Kirsten Ørgaard who has worked with children in Greenland for years. Mary was 33 during the visit only two years older than her fellow brunette beauty Kate.Europe's stylish princesses often influence one another's fashion choices. When Princess Letizia of Spain stepped out in a scarlet dress and nude accessories she perfectly emulated one of Kate's outfits from her trip to Canada, while the Duchess' show stopping red carpet look at the War Horse premiere in January 2012 was similar to one worn by Princess Victoria of Sweden.
