Last month, Prince William and Kate Middleton were given the green light to build the home of their dreams. Plans for the proposed building work, which have been seen by the Telegraph, show that a garden room will be built onto the existing kitchen at the side of the house, with a pergola added over a patio next to it to give the royal couple added privacy.A wood store on the grounds is being converted into a sitting room and lavatory, perhaps for William and Kate's police protection officers, while two berths in a four-block garage will be turned into an 'equipment room'.Of course, privacy is of paramount importance for the couple, and that is also being taken into account in the plans. Extra trees will be planted around the house to screen it from view, and a new gate across what is currently a public road will be built. An existing public entrance to the nearby St Mary's Church is being changed into a private entrance for use by William and Kate only, with the existing public road rerouted to create new access to the church for worshippers.

The Telegraph reports that the Queen will compensate the church by paying for a new car park to be built there - although the local diocese will have the final say over any plans that encroach on church land.In March, the local council granted planning permission for developments at the Grade II listed Georgian property, once the home of the Duke and Duchess of Kent. It expires in 2016, suggesting the building work will be completed before then.Although Amner Hall hasn't been confirmed as part of William and Kate's property portfolio, the couple's living situation will definitely change in 2013 when they move into their dream home in Kensington Palace, their London base. Once renovations are complete, the royal couple and their baby will live in Apartment 1A, the six-bedroom flat formerly the home of Princess Margaret.
