Danish Princesses Mary and Marie dazzle in diamond tiaras

The Danish princesses showed the world how to really dress for New Year when they stepped out on 1 January 2014.Looking every inch a princess, Marie of Denmark arrived at the traditional New Year's banquet hosted by Queen Margrethe of Denmark, at Amalienborg Palace.Accompanied by her husband Prince Joachim, Marie, 37, wore a shiny silver peplumed gown that trailed the ground as she made her sweeping entrance.

Sparkly pink heels completed the princess-perfect look, along with a dazzling diamond tiara.Drop diamond earrings and a matching clutch added the final touch of glamour to the royal's outfit.Australian-born Princess Mary of Denmark cut a regal figure in a beautiful burgundy velvet floor-length dress and matching diamond-encrusted choker.

The 41-year-old brunette crowned her outfit with a matching tiara that featured pink stones. A smokey eye and nude lip finished the look.

Copenhagen's royal celebrations were the perfect excuse to wear the crown jewels, and Queen Margrethe didn't hesitate to don her own diamond tiara.

The Danish queen waved to the crowds as she arrived at Amalienborg Palace accompanied by her husband, Prince Henrik.

Denmark's monarch, 71, was stunning in an emerald green dress and matching jewels – a tiara, earrings and necklace all featuring diamond and emerald green stones.
