Princess Victoria of Sweden soldiers on despite sprained ankle

It was business as usual for Sweden's Princess Victoria on Thursday, despite having sprained her ankle on a recent skiing holiday.Not one to let her injury get in the way, Victoria soldiered on at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, sporting a large leg cast as she presented the Tobias Prize. 

The 36-year-old wore an elegant all-black outfit, teaming a lace pencil skirt with a cropped-sleeved top and black tights.

Victoria sensibly chose flat footwear, wearing a buckled black ballet pump as she presented Sweden's top scientific prize to Sten Eirik W.Jacobsen.

Sweden's future queen sprained her ankle while skiing in the Swiss Alps at the beginning of the year.The royal was on holiday with her husband Prince Daniel and the couple's daughter Estelle, who turns two on 23 February.Victoria was swiftly taken to hospital in Geneva where she was x-rayed and later released with a pair of crutches and a brace on her left leg.

The holiday continued as normal for Daniel and Estelle, however, who posted an adorable picture of themselves enjoying their time in the snow.

"The crown princess suffered a sprain in the foot but is feeling otherwise well," read a statement from the royal palace, which added that Victoria's official duties would not be affected as a result.
