It will feature the city's only sky-high day spa on level 27
The room service menu is being created by fiery chef Gordon Ramsay whose first Australian restaurant, Maze, will open in the hotel
Melbourne is set to receive an impressive new addition to its accommodation options. The Crown Metropol, a futuristic, wave-like edifice located opposite the new Melbourne Exhibition Centre, has 658-rooms and will be Australia’s largest hotel.
Due to open in early 2010, the establishment offers a Manhattan, boutique-style feel, with suites enjoying dramatic city views and studios giving onto sweeping views across the bay.
It will be home to the southern Australian city's only sky-high day spa – on the 27th floor – and an open-to-the-public Sky Bar on level 28 which is expected to attract locals as well as visitors. The hotel restaurant, Maze - Gordon Ramsay’s first venture in Australia – is expected to be another big draw.
Gordon is also lending his talents to the hotel's room service menu, which will be designed by the fiery celebrity chef and prepared by his team.
