A Fiat classic
The hotel is located in the former Fiat car plant, an avant-garde building dating from the early twentieth century. The Lingotto building has been refurbished and now houses a leisure and commercial centre, art gallery, conference centre and two hotels from the global Le Meridien group, the Lingotto and the Art+Tech, which share some facilities.
The Art+Tech hotel was designed by Renzo Piano, who also oversaw the renovation of the rest of the complex, and makes excellent use of some of the original building features. The immense floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to flood through the building, while up on the roof is the Pista, the former Fiat test track, where guests can now enjoy an early morning jog looking out over the city of Turin and surrounded by Alpine peaks.
Contemporary Italian designers have provided the decor for this ultramodern boutique hotel where the clean lines of marble, glass, steel and wood enhance the feeling of light and space. Glass elevators whisk the guests away from the minimalist lobby to rooms equipped with all the latest technological gadgetry.
Throughout the day, the airy Art+Café serves traditional cuisine with a modern fusion twist, in a setting of music and fine art.
