by hellomagazine.comSanta Claus, Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, Kris Kringle... the jolly chap in the fur-trimmed red suit has many names. But he has one official residence and you can visit him there at the Santa Claus Village, Rovaniemi, right on the Arctic Circle, throughout the year.
At this time of year, Father Christmas has his work cut out to keep up with all the appearances talking to children and hearing their Christmas wishes in toy shop grottoes and shopping malls around the world, so it's no wonder if sometimes he asks someone to stand in for him. But there's one place where you can be sure of seeing Santa, and that's at his official residence, the Santa Claus village just outside the Finnish city of Rovaniemi. Throughout the year, hundreds of thousands of visitors come to meet him here in Finland's northernmost province of Lapland where he has his office and where the elves are busy in the workshops making and mending toys. You can send a letter to Santa, or send a Christmas letter to anyone anywhere in the world from the Santa Claus main post office with its staff of Postal Elves. The Arctic Circle runs righ through the theme park which includes sleigh rides, workshops where kids can learn to bake gingerbread men, and lots of fun activities and exhibitions for all the family.
