Kick back in luxury at David Beckham's Parisian base, Le Bristol, Paris
Since signing with iconic football team Paris St-Germain, David Beckham's base in the French capital has reportedly been five star luxury hotel Le Bristol. A stone's throw from the Elysee Palace in the heart of the City of Light, David's new pad is the Imperial Suite at Le Bristol hotel on the fashionable Faubourg Saint-Honore. The Junior Suite, which is still available over the Easter weekend, promises true luxury, with a price tag of approximately £1,000 per night.
Hit the Swiss slopes like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
Head to the Arosa resort on the Swiss slopes, where Prince William and pregnant Kate recently attended the wedding of close friend polo player Mark Tomlinson and Olympian Laura Bechtolsheimer. William and younger brother Harry, who also attended, made the most of the weekend with a spot of skiing. Meanwhile Kate, nearly five months pregnant, took the more cautious route of tobogganing in the Swiss Alps, heading off with a traditional wooden sledge provided by the Tschuggen Grand Hotel, where the wedding party resided during their stay. This royal hotel is no longer available for Easter, but many luxury options are, including the four star Blatter's Bellavista Hotel.
Another, newly-confirmed, royal couple was also warming up the slopes recently. Prince Harry and girlfriend Cressida Bonas, 24, were seen embracing at Verbier in Switzerland, where they joined Harry's uncle Prince Andrew, his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York and their two daughters Princess Beatrice, 24 and Princess Eugenie, 22, who were all celebrating Andrew's 53rd birthday.
Catch the rays with the stars in the Algarve, Portugal
Pixie Lott has embraced the rays of sun on the beaches of Portugal, as has JLS singer Marvin Humes with his wife Rochelle from The Saturdays. American singer Sheryl Crow is often spied relaxing at the five star Ria Park Hotel & Spa on the Algarve. A resort for rockstars, the exclusive Ria Park is also popular with the likes of Lenny Kravitz and Michael Schumacher. With Mediterranean decor that oozes glamour, rooms overlook the beautiful blue sea, although Sheryl is more likely to be found camped out in the deluxe suite. Guests can enjoy countless activities around the resort, or relax in the spa or thalassotherapy pool if it all gets too much... Rooms and suites are still available for the Easter season, starting from just £90 a night.
Soak up the atmosphere in Rome
All eyes have been on Italy's capital since Benedict XVI surprisingly announced his abdication as pope in February. And Rome continued to be in the spotlight while the world waited for the papal conclave to begin, which began on 12 March and lasted just two days. The new Argentinian Pope, Francis I, was announced soon after and is now the leader of the Catholic Church and its 1.2 billion faithful followers. Soak up the jubilant atmosphere in Rome over the Easter weekend, eat traditional pizza, mouth-watering pasta and home-made gelato, in between taking in the city's sights. Needless to say first on the list will be the Vatican and St Peter's Basilica...
Rub shoulders with the rich and famous in Monaco
Monaco's highly anticipated Rose Ball took place on 23 March, organised and attended by fashion maestro Karl Lagerfeld. Model of the moment Cara Delevingne presented a tombola and British pop star Rita Ora also graced the stage to perform to the royal crowd, which included Charlotte Casiraghi and boyfriend Gad Elmaleh, Prince Albert and his wife Princess Charlene. Live in luxury for a few days among the Monaco royals, who have just welcomed a new generation into the family as Tatiana Santo Domingo gave birth to a son on Thursday. Top sights for your list include the Prince's Palace, the Opera House and the cathedral, where Grace Kelly rests today.
