House of Cards, True Detective and Mad Men: the ultimate American road trip where US hit series were filmed

by Epic new drama True Detective, starring Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, made its UK TV debut on Sky Atlantic HD to much accolade in February, while the third season of hugely popular political drama series House of Cards, set in Washington D.C. and seeing Kevin Spacey play Frank Underwood, is officially in the making.

We take to the highway for the ultimate USA road trip, stopping where six of America's best-loved TV series were filmed. Kick off in The Roosevelt Hotel, New York, where Don Draper sips on classic cocktails in Mad Men before heading into Baltimore, Maryland, home of The Wire, and following Kevin Spacey's footsteps as Francis Underwood in House Of Cards, Washington. Catch some sun in Miami (Miami Vice), leave the detective work in New Orleans to Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson from True Detective, and finish off the American road trip fit for the silver screen in the New Mexico desert of Breaking Bad.
