Friday 8 August - Bristol International Balloon Fiesta
Bristol will once again play host to the largest ballooning event in Europe, a fun-filled and free event suitable for the whole family. Over 120 hot air balloons will take off from Ashton Court Estate in the early morning and light up the skies at night with evening balloon glows. The event will feature four days of colourful hot-air balloon displays, where you can watch balloons of all shapes and sizes lift over the City of Bristol. Entertainment available includes: fairground rides, various food stalls and bars, face painting and acoustic music areas.

Saturday 9 August - Summer of love, Vinopolis
Summer of Love, Vinopolis, London’s premium wine experience, is bringing the summer to life this August with a festival of the senses for grown-ups of all persuasions. Taking revellers back to the hedonism of the swinging sixties, head to the Vinopolis Wine Experience this summer for a series of grown-up delights. The Summer of Love is running throughout August with discounted brands and DJs on tour every Saturday from 12pm until 5pm. Packages are available from £32 - £42 with an option of 7, 12 or 16 tokens.

Sunday 10 August - Robin Hood Festival
This is the perfect festival for all medieval and Robin Hood lovers. The 30th Annual Robin Hood Festival will take place from Monday 4 to Sunday 10 August at the Sherwood Forest Country Park. Robin Hood will be there alongside his men as he tries to defeat the evil Sheriff of Nottingham. Food, drinks and attractions including interactive story-telling sessions are only some of the activities offered to make sure the whole family is kept entertained.
Monday 11 August - Buckingham Palace childhood exhibition
A new exhibition at Buckingham Palace, inspired by the arrival of Prince George, will give you a glimpse inside the toy boxes of generations of royal children this summer.Toys owned by The Queen, including treasured rocking horses and dolls dressed in haute couture will be on display in the Royal Childhood exhibition, alongside a pink rabbit tea-set and a set of 'Knockemdown Ninepins' used by young princess 'Lilibet' and her little sister Margaret.
The Royal Childhood exhibition will run until 28 September
Tuesday 12 August - Summer Sessions, Sinead O' Connor
The courageous queen of pop/rock hits the road once again to perform songs from her new album I'm Not Bossy, I'm the Boss, to be released on 11 August. On 12 August the singer will be performing at London’s Roundhouse venue at 7pm.

Wednesday 13 August - Backyard Cinema, Chalk Farm
Backyard Cinema started with a group of friends watching Jurassic Park projected on a bed sheet in a garden. Now there is 200 deckchairs, cosy two-person beanbags, tasty burgers and usherettes in retro outfits on the cobbles in Camden Lock Market. On Wednesday 13 August this unique outdoor cinema experience will be screening Superbad at 9pm.
Thursday 14 August - Green Man Festival
This intimate and independent festival is located in the Welsh Black Mountains, near Beacon. With a breath taking scenery the four-day festival offers day passes for a family day out, or a full pass with camping on site. The line-up includes Beirut, Daughters, Mercury Rev and Michael Chapman.
