Heather Morris' wedding planner on working with the Glee star

Heather Morris' wedding planner has spoken about what it was like to work with the Glee star – and how her "down-to-earth" personality was reflected in her big day, from the outdoor setting of the ceremony to the delicious, "rustic" cakes.

The 28-year-old bride and her long-term love Taylor Hubbell married last Saturday at the Old Canyon Ranch in Topanga, California.

The wedding had a rustic theme about it, in keeping with the bride and groom's laid-back style.

Heather Morris was described as "natural and down-to-earth" by her wedding planner

"Heather's not a frilly, ballgown-type of girl," Cari Izaguirre, owner of All Occasions Event Planning, told People. "She's more natural and down-to-earth."

Speaking specifically about the four wedding cakes the couple chose to have, Cari added: "I think their cake represented that really well by just having it on the crates with just simple white garden roses."

Heather and Taylor visited the Bread Basket Cake Company in California for their tasting and were more than satisfied with the end result.

"The groom loved all of the flavours but Heather's favourite was the white cake with chocolate mousse and raspberry puree," said Cari. "At the wedding, after we cut it, she was like 'can you please bring me a big piece of that?' She was excited. It was really cute."

An Instagram video posted by the wedding planners showed the four cakes on display in the outdoor venue, close to where Heather and Taylor enjoyed their first dance as newlyweds.

"They were [part of] four tiers and if you stacked them, it would look like just a normal [wedding] cake," said Cari.

"But Heather's thought was, since she wanted to go with that rustic style, that doing a tiered cake didn't really fit [the aesthetic]. Plus she wanted to use different flavours so that way her guests could choose because a lot of times with a tiered cake, people don't really know what flavours are what."

The Glee star and her beau opted for blue wedding colours and a rustic-style theme

Little signs next to each sweet treat gave details of the flavours, while the cakes themselves were decorated with foliage and blue ribbons, to match the colour scheme of the wedding.

On the menu was a white cake with chocolate mousse and raspberry puree, a second white cake with strawberries and French whipped cream and two chocolate cakes with chocolate mousse.

And to finish it all off, a dessert bar was open to guests offering some of the couple's favourite goodies including popcorn, M&Ms, chocolate and sour sweets. Taking centre stage on the table however was the sweetest photo of the couple cradling their toddler son Elijah.
