John Terry's England future in doubt after affair

Monday February 1, 2010

Fabio Capello, the manager of England's national football squad, is said to be weighing up John Terry's future as captain after allegations about the player's private life emerged over the weekend, reports Sky News.

The Chelsea player was named as allegedly having had an affair with former teammate Wayne Bridge's girlfriend after a High Court judge lifted an injunction to stop publication of the story.

Married father-of-two John had sought the injunction to prevent details of his alleged infidelity with French model Vanessa Perroncel, ex-partner of Manchester City defender Wayne from being published.

There have been public calls for John to be stripped of his England captaincy following the news although his club, Chelsea, said it would support him in "this personal matter."

Wayne Bridge, 29, who has separated from Vanessa Perroncel, said on Saturday he did not intend to comment on the reports for the sake of the couple's three-year old son.
