Bridesmaids' Kristen Wiig set to tackle action role

Thursday March 1, 2012

Kristen Wiig could be showing off her physical skills in an upcoming action-comedy by The Descendants' Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.

The Bridesmaids star is said to be attached to a lead role in the as-yet-untitled movie from the duo, who triumphed in the best adapted screenplay category at the Oscars, reported Variety.

Details are scarce on the project, which is still in early stages.

Kristen's star has risen in Hollywood after the success of Bridesmaids, which she co-wrote and starred in.

It seems the 38-year-old is now highly sought after, with roles in several upcoming films including Friends With Kids, which reunites her with former Bridesmaids co-stars.

Other forthcoming films to her name, include a voice role in the How To Train Your Dragon sequel, and roles in Imogene, The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty and Freezing People Is Easy.
