Kim Kardashian's man Kris wants to save marriage

Tuesday November 1, 2011

Following the shock announcement that Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce, both the reality star and her husband Kris Humphries have spoken out.

But they're clearly not on the same page.

While Kim released a statement saying that they "remain friends and wish each other the best," Kris has told of his shock and surprise.

He also spoke of his desire to fight for their relationship.

"I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce," he said on Monday.

"I'm committed to this marriage – and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."

Meanwhile, 31-year-old Kim was decisive as she released a statement through E! Television Network.

"I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision," she said.

"I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."

The statements come after Kim's reality show producer, Ryan Seacrest, broke the news on Twitter.

"Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning," he wrote on Monday.

"I touched base with her."

According to TMZ, the 31-year-old has hired celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser and will cite the usual "irreconcilable differences."
