Samantha Cameron meets David's waxwork double

Friday July 2, 2010

Nothing out of the ordinary, an elegant Samantha Cameron was pictured by her husband's side on Thursday.

Or so it seemed. The sharply dressed man next to her was actually an impressive wax likeness of the Prime Minister and the newest addition to the collection at London's Madame Tussauds.

Mr Cameron's waxwork, which was constructed by 20 people over four months and cost £150,000, is decked out in a Paul Smith suit and cobalt blue tie.

And the hard work seems to have paid off, as the person closest to the country's leader gave her seal of approval.

“He looks very familiar,” said Samantha, whose bright orange frock complemented the scupture's ensemble.

“They’ve done an amazing job, they’re such talented artists. He even has a little bit of stubble - the children will be amazed when they see it.”
