Kristen Stewart turns to Jodie Foster for support

Thursday August 2, 2012

Twilight star Kristen Stewart has turned to her 'silver screen mum' Jodie Foster for advice following the breakdown of her relationship with Robert Pattinson.

The 45-year-old actress, who played Kristen's mother in Panic Room, reached out to Kristen after reports of an affair with director Rupert Saunders.

"As soon as she heard the news, Jodie contacted Kristen to offer her support," a source told website Radaroline.

"They have been close friends since they starred opposite each other in the 2002 movie Panic Room, and Jodie is a mother-like figure to her.

"Jodie told Kristen to take no notice of the media bashing and said if she wanted to cry her heart out to her she's always available.

"She thinks Kristen will learn from this and will only grow into a more mature person because of it."

Robert meanwhile has turned to his Water for Elephants co-star Reese Witherspoon for support and is currently nursing his broken heart at her California mansion.
