'BGT' hopefuls The Mend on their 'X Factor' fail

Tuesday April 3, 2012

Britain's Got Talent hopefuls The Mend said they are "better prepared" for their second crack at fame after being kicked off the X Factor in 2011.

The band, whose four members Kris, Jay, Dean and Craig met in Manchester, were disqualified from the singing show for having links to judge Gary Barlow, but feel their time to shine has come.

But they admitted the nerves got to them before performing in front of music mogul Simon Cowell who missed the previous year's X Factor because he was working on the US version of the show.

"This is the best we've ever seen BGT. I think we're better prepared this time, and we're enjoying every single minute," said Dean.

"Simon Cowell wasn't on the X Factor panel last year, and in the music industry there is no bigger name to perform for."

Simon, who has rejoined the BGT panel said The Mend "sounded great" after they performed their version of soul hit (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay at the auditions.
