Kate: From Princess-bride to Welsh housewife

Tuesday May 3, 2011

Following the opulence and grandeur of her big day, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is set to return to normality as a housewife.

She has reportedly decided not to become a full-time working royal for up to two years, instead wanting to concentrate on married life with her new husband.

Whilst William, 28, will return to work as a search-and-rescue pilot on Anglesey, 29-year-old Kate, as an officer's wife, will be away from the spotlight.

This decision has William's seal of approval, and he has asked aides to keep her commitments to a minimum.

Consequently, there are only a few events pencilled into her diary in the upcoming months.

Definite dates following their honeymoon include important events such as Trooping The Colour and the Duke of Edinburgh's 90th birthday.

Meanwhile, in Canada excitement is building as Kate will accompany William on a two-week tour of the country in July.
