John Galliano: the famed fashion legend's colossal career with Dior
The fashion house has inadvertently become caught up in controversy after its creative director, John Galliano, was captured on video allegedly making anti-Semitic remarks which led to his dismissal.
But the show must go on, and Christian Dior unveiled its latest collection to a full house as part of Paris Fashion Week on Friday.
However, John Galliano's press office has confirmed that his own label will no longer be staging a runway event, but will instead invite journalists to a low-key presentation.
Dior's CEO Sydney Toldeano took to the catwalk before the show to express his regret at the recent events.
"What has happened over the last week has been a terrible and wrenching ordeal for us all," he said in French
"It has been deeply painful to see the Dior name associated with the disgraceful statements attributed to its designer, however brilliant he may be.
"These statements have deeply shocked and saddened all at Dior, and it is particularly painful that they came from someone so admired for his remarkable creative talent."
The CEO confirmed the company will continue to thrive, but made no mention of a replacement.
