Black Eyed Peas pull out of Michael tribute concert

Wednesday October 5, 2011

The Michael Jackson tribute concert has the potential to be one of the biggest musical events of all time.

But less than a week after confirming they would be performing, the Black Eyed Peas have pulled out due to “unavoidable circumstances”.

Although there are many other acts set to perform, the Peas were one of the biggest names on the bill.

The Michael Forever Tribute Concert will take place at the Millennium Stadium with Christina Aguilera, Gladys Knight and Smokey Robinson among the talent.

Chris Hunt, CEO of Global Live Events which is staging the show, said:

"It is with regret that we announce the removal of Black Eyed Peas from the Michael Forever bill, but I look forward to a great night with other earth shattering artists.

"The event is really getting into gear and is going to be a fantastic evening for all".

Meanwhile, producers of a documentary, Michael Jackson: The Life Of An Icon, announced that it will be given its world premiere in London next month.

The film, backed by Michael's friend David Gest, will be screened at the Empire Leicester Square cinema on November 2.
