Gerard Butler treats Slumdog kids to five-star outing

Wednesday May 6, 2009

In India with a group of pals hunky Scottish actor Gerard Butler took the opportunity of a Mumbai stop-off to treat the child stars of Oscar smash Slumdog Millionaire to a day in a five star hotel.

Having met nine-year-old slum dweller Rubina Ali Qureshi and Azhar Mohammed, ten - who play the young Latika and Salim in the much-feted flick - at the Academy Awards ceremony in February, he was keen to catch up with the pair again.

The reunion certainly seems to have been a success. At one point Rubina was seen smiling broadly as the actor boosted her high enough so she could touch the ceiling.

While in town the 300 star also attended a party thrown by actress Priyanka Chopra. The 26-year-old was among those joining in the fun at the hotel on the kiddies special day and has reportedly been spending time with Gerard during his trip.
