Look back at all Ann's amazing routines

Her American Smooth routine led one Strictly Come Dancing judge to describe her as like "a Dalek in drag".

And this time not even her popularity with the public could save her.

Former MP Ann Widdecombe – who has seen off far more twinkle-toed competitors in the past – left the dance contest with partner Anton Du Beke.

Their routine inspired by the musical Hello Dolly! had scored only 14 points out of 40.

She was gracious in defeat telling viewers: "I feel like I have had a jolly good time.

"This day was going to come, it has come, and they are delighted (the judges). It has been tremendous. Time of my life, it's been fantastic!"

Later the 63-year-old said: "I'm not too upset, I have had ten very good weeks.
