Something had quite clearly tickled the Queen and Prince Charles at the weekend as members of the royal family turned out for the annual Braemar Gathering.
Mother and son were pictured in a fit of laughter together after taking their seats to watch one of Scotland's most high-profile Highland Games.
But there was one notable absentee as the heir to the throne watched the events without his wife by his side.
It is believed that Camilla, who is awaiting the birth of her daughter Laura Lopes’s twins, does not want to stray too far from the mother-to-be.
Nevertheless, Princess Anne, her husband Tim Laurence and the Duke of Edinburgh were in attendence to watch a number of events including caber tossing and tug of war.
As patron of the gathering, which takes place on the first Saturday of every September, the Queen later presented winning competitors with medals and trophies.
