Paris Hilton is sued over borrowed jewellery

Friday April 8, 2011

Paris Hilton is being sued for failing to look after borrowed jewellery worth £37,000.

The gems in question were taken during a 2008 burglary at the socialite's Hollywood Hills mansion.

Jewellers Damiani this week filed a law suit claiming that Paris had left her property unlocked at the time of the break-in while she went to a party.

She had been lent the jewels on the condition that she keep them safe.

The jeweller's insurer also said that since the items were found by police, Paris, 30, has failed to return them.

But a spokesman for the heiress has insisted that only costume jewellery was recovered.
