Welsh Dragon boosts Michael Douglas' fighting spirit

Wednesday September 8, 2010

As Michael Douglas battles a throat tumour, he has a lucky charm to see him through the treatment – a Welsh Dragon baseball cap.

The hat is probably a gift from his Swansea–born wife Catherine Zeta-Jones or one of their fans back in Wales.

It may have been given to him this summer when the couple made their annual visit to her native land, with Dylan and Carys, their two children, who both have traditional Welsh names.

The charismatic 65-year-old has pledged to beat cancer.

In a recent interview with US chat show host David Letterman, he appeared upbeat and positive.

The health problems come after a tough year for Michael, in which his son has been jailed on drugs charges and he is involved in a court battle with his ex-wife.
