Lauryn Hill gets reprive from home confinement

Tuesday October 8, 2013

Lauryn Hill has been allowed to leave her home during her three month home detention, as part as her sentence for tax evasion, to go on tour.

The mum-of-six asked the judge for a reprieve so that she could go on tour from 15 November through to 31 December.

The request was granted on the grounds that the singer would serve her home sentence from 1 January.

The 38-year-old singer served a three-month sentence in a federal prison for failing to pay taxes on her $1.8million income, from 2005 to 2007.

On the night before she left the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, the Fugees singer released her new single Consumerism.
