Police called as excited fans besiege X Factor house

Friday October 9, 2009

The X Factor finalists got a taste of what the celebrity life might involve for them this week as hordes of fans surrounded their temporary home.

Police were called on Thursday to help hold back the crowd - which consisted mainly of teenage school girls - from the house in Golders Green, London.

Many of the unsupervised fans were spotted climbing the property's surrounding fences and pressing the buzzer in a bid to speak to one of the 12 acts.

But although they remained firmly fixed in the pouring rain until 11.30pm, the unlucky teens didn't manage to catch a glimpse of the singers, who recently got a makeover from the X Factor stylists.

The finalists, who are going up against each other in the first live show on Saturday, have spent the week being mentored by Robbie Williams.
