Fresh 'X Factor' upset after Dermot O'Leary speaks out

Wednesday November 10, 2010

It's been dubbed 'the most controversial edition of X Factor ever'.

Complaints came flooding in following Sunday night's programme after Cheryl Cole refused to vote, meaning Treyc Cohen bowed out while Katie Waissell stayed on.

And there has been fresh outrage over the voting system after host Dermot O'Leary has admitted he and Cheryl previously discussed the possible outcome.

"We thought it might happen before the break when we found out who was in the bottom two," he said.

"We decided if she wasn’t going to vote, we would go to the majority verdict."

With both of her acts in the bottom two, the Geordie beauty found it impossible to choose which one to send home.

Simon voted first, choosing Treyc. Then after Cheryl refused, Danni went with Katie and Louis chose Treyc, sealing her fate.

But if the vote had gone to deadlock, it would have almost certainly been Katie leaving. TV sources have confirmed Treyc received three times as many votes from the public as her rival.
