Producers of this year's I'm a Celebrity… Get Me out of Here have had a tough time of confirming the show's stars, with Gail Porter walking out at the last moment.
But with the new series beginning on Sunday night, celebrities such as Sheryl Gascoigne are keen to embrace the challenge.
The 45-year-old ex-wife of footballer Paul Gascoigne would reportedly like to use the show to build up her public profile.
A source said: "She wants to turn her image round and I'm a Celebrity is a great vehicle for that.
"You can't hide who you are in the jungle when you're washing in a lagoon and sleeping in a rat-infested camp."
The model will be joined by British sprinter Linford Christie, former Bond girl Britt Ekland and X Factor finalist Stacey Solomon amongst others.
