Michael Jackson's tribute concert is postponed

Friday September 11, 2009

The highly-publicised tribute concert in honour of the late king of pop, which was due to take place in Vienna later this month, has been pushed back until June 2010.

Michael's brother Jermaine has confirmed the news saying that too many of the big name acts associated with the music event were unable to perform at such short notice.

"Numerous stars were just not able to change their schedules to make a live appearance possible," he revealed.

"Many artists and performers who I have spoken to personally told me it would be a great honour…However due to the short time-frame it was not possible for many of them to change their schedule"

"Now we have eight months to put this monumental show together and not just eight weeks," he added.

Earlier representatives for Mary J Blige, Natalie Cole and Chris Brown - all of whom were billed to appear - confirmed that none of the trio would be able to sing at the tribute this month.
