Ashton Kutcher is taking a step back from the Twitterverse after a mis-informed tweet landed him in trouble.
After finding out that the University of Iowa football team's head coach, Joe Paterno, had been sacked he posted:
"How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye [the University of Iowa football team] fan I find it in poor taste."
Unfortunately though, Ashton was unaware that the head coach had been let go after it was revealed that he had covered up a sexual assault by a former coach.
After a barrage of complaints from his followers and other Twitter users, the actor realised his mistake and instantly deleted the comment and issued an apology.
"As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case," he said
The Two and a Half Men star then went on to say that he will not actively be posting on his Twitter account until he can avoid future mistakes.
"As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won't happen again."
