Nicola Roberts has denied reports she made a dig at Madonna over her new single.
The singer was reported to be referring to the Queen of Pop's new leaked track being very similar to her first single Beat of My Drum, when she tweeted:
"Copy-catting has never flattered me".
This was after Cheryl Cole had written on her bandmate's page:
"Imitation is the biggest form of flattery".
But, following reports Nicola had accused Madonna of copying her, the Girls Aloud singer wrote:
"Some people are so quick to jump the gun..." adding:
"Some people interpret things to suit them..."
The singer then went on to explain that she hadn't even heard the song people were comparing to hers.
"Some people, like me, haven't even heard this leaked Madonna song."
She told her fans: "Some people find it so easy to say such horrible nasty hurtful words so frivolously."
A demo version of Madonna's new song Give Me All Your Love has leaked online months ahead of release.
