British Comedy Awards win for 'Hunderby'

Thursday December 13, 2012

Period comedy Hunderby has been crowned the Best New Comedy programme and the Best Sitcom at the British Comedy Awards.

Nighty Night writer Julia Davis put together the dark comedy based on a spoof of Daphne Du Maurier's Rebecca, which went down a storm at the awards.

The Thick Of It also came out successful, with Peter Capaldi winning a best actor award for his portrayal of foul-mothed spin doctor Malcolm Tucker and Rebecca Front coming out victorious for her role as a hapless MP in the political satire.

Olivia Colman was nominated twice for her efforts, but came away empty-handed.
