Charlie Sheen: 'Drug free' but denied return to work

Tuesday February 15, 2011

Following his most recent stint in rehab Charlie Sheen has spoken out against bosses of his hit TV show Two and a Half Men for apparently refusing to allow him to go back to work early.

The troubled star began rehab treatment at his home in LA following his hospitalisation for drug and alcohol abuse in January.

Asked if he was ready to go back to work, the 45-year-old said: " [The show's executives] said, 'You get ready and we'll get ready'… I got ready and went back and nobody was there."

Speaking to Dan Patrick's US radio show, he added: "I am a man of my word. I have a contract. They said, 'Get your act together,' and I did.

"But they didn't think it was going to happen this fast. I heal really quickly but I also unravel pretty quickly, so get me right now guys. Get me right now!"
